The HVAC sub touches your schedule at rough-in, trim and final. Picking the wrong one shows up as missed dates and failed inspections. Ask these six questions before you award the scope.

1. Are you licensed in Utah for this work?

Ask for the DOPL license classifications (for example, S350 HVAC) and verify them on the Utah DOPL website.

2. Do you self-perform, or subcontract the labor?

Ask who will actually install the work, and whether the company that bid the job is the company building it.

3. Who runs my job in the field?

You want a named person who coordinates directly with your superintendent.

4. Are your technicians certified?

Look for EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling and gas certification (such as RMGA) for fuel-gas work.

5. What is in, and not in, your bid?

Clear inclusions and exclusions prevent change-order fights later.

6. Can I talk to builders you work with now?

Current references beat any website.

DML Mechanical is licensed in Utah: DOPL Lic. 12580789-5501 · B100 · S350. Request a bid or call (385) 307-8871.
